I’ve been in the industry since mix tapes were trending. I did all hair, all services, I didn’t have a niche.
In 1998 I took a backseat from behind the chair for 25 years and raised my three kids. I kept my hands busy doing hair for family and friends.
In 2017 I needed something more. I learned about an opportunity to be a curl coach for Deva Curl. I got invited to a ‘curl conference’ and it was there I had my AHA MOMENT. I was in a room full of people with amazing curly hair who had hair stories just like me. Tears were seriously shed.
My curl training journey began. My education began at the Deva Curl Academy in NYC in October 2019.
In January 2020 I launched my new business. Thanks to Covid I shut down in March 2020. With the encouragement of a friend I decided to go for it again in October 2022. I am forever grateful for her support.
My business is building organically, it never feels like work and I meet the coolest people.
