How did I become a Curly Hair Specialist? Well I fell in love with how I could help the Curly Client. I was shocked when I listened to clients stories of how they felt about their curls as a child and how they hated hair stylists and going to salons. I found a passion that the beauty Industry was desperately lacking. We are not taught how to cut curly hair in beauty school. Everywhere I looked it was all about how to ‘fix’ the curls with chemicals and irons. I wanted to learn how to help clients achieve naturally beautiful curls. Even the African American salons were not taught how to do their own natural hair, they are taught to relax, braid and do extensions to fix their curls. Then I found “The Curly Girl Handbook” and met Lorraine Massey. This goes WAY deeper than “just a haircut” and I want this to be a relationship where you look forward to coming to the salon and this starts with building trust first. This is why I became a Curly Hair Specialist, Because the right shape changes people’s lives and I love being apart of it.
Thank you for reading my story, I look forward to helping you soon.
