Why are stylist plans changing?
Curl published its final magazine in February 2026. As we move away from magazine publishing, stylist subscriptions and partnerships are transitioning to directory-based memberships.
All stylist plans will automatically switch to their new membership tier. There is no immediate charge. Your current prepaid term will continue through its renewal date.
What happens to my current plan?
Your existing stylist partnership will convert to one of our new directory memberships at a lower price point.
There is no action required if you would like your membership to continue. The new pricing will apply at your next renewal.
Here’s a full pricing comparison chart:
| OLD PLAN | NEW PLAN |
| Online Directory Plus $15/month $160/year | Online Directory Plus $10/month $99/year |
| Standard Single-Issue Stylist Directory Listing $100/quarter | Directory Pro $18/month $180/year |
| Stylist Partnership/Premium Annual Stylist Partnership $39/month $399/year | Directory Pro $18/month $180/year |
| Salon Partnership $69/month $699/year | Directory Pro Salon $49/month $490/year |
NOTE: Some annual partnerships were moved to quarterly billing ahead of this transition to reduce tying up your money unnecessarily. Quarterly partnerships will now transition to a monthly billing cycle under the new membership structure. If you would prefer to switch back to an annual plan instead, just let us know and we’re happy to update that for you.
What are the new membership options?
You can see what the new plans include here.
What happens if I cancel?
If you cancel:
- Your paid membership will end at the end of your prepaid term.
- Your listing will move to the Free tier.
- You will lose access to unlimited website articles.
- You will retain digital access to any individual magazine issues you purchased.
- You may download PDFs of any issues you own.
Stylists will no longer receive magazine issues as part of any plan.
What are my options right now?
You may:
1. Do nothing
Your membership will transition and renew at the new, lower rate at your next billing date.
2. Cancel
Your membership will remain active through the end of your prepaid term and will not renew.
3. Request account credit
If you are on an annual plan, you may request prorated credit for the unused portion of your subscription (calculated in quarterly increments).
Credit:
- Must be requested by March 15th, 2026.
- Expires after one year.
- Can be used toward back issues and directory renewals or upgrades.
- Cannot be transferred to another stylist.
If your monthly or quarterly partnership renewed by Jan. 15th, 2026, that payment covered the final February issue and is therefore not eligible for credit.
4. Request a refund
If you are on an annual plan, you may cancel and request a prorated refund based on quarterly increments and your last renewal date. Cancellation does not initiate a refund. Use this form to request a refund.
Refunds:
- Must be requested by March 15th, 2026.
- Are issued to the original payment method.
- Are processed in the order received and may take time to complete.
Refunds of annual plans are pro-rated by remaining time, calculated in quarters, based on when your most recent renewal occurred.
- If your most recent renewal was between 10/16/25–1/15/26, you’ll receive three quarters of your payment back.
- If it was between 7/16/25–10/15/25, you’ll receive half of your payment back.
- If it was between 4/16/25–7/15/25, you’ll receive one quarter of your payment back.
- If it was between 1/16/25–4/15/25, no refund is available, as all four quarterly issues were delivered.
If your monthly or quarterly partnership renewed by Jan. 15th, 2026, that payment covered the final February issue and is therefore not eligible for refund.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. You may upgrade or downgrade at any time from your account dashboard.
If you downgrade from Directory Pro Salon, additional stylist listings that were part of your membership will revert to Free listings.
